Langford's Draft Transportation Master Plan and Active Transportation Plan are Now Available to View!

The City of Langford has created two new plans to shape the future of transportation in Langford! These plans are the Transportation Master Plan (TMP) and the Active Transportation Plan (ATP). Both plans are identified as specific objectives in the 2023-2027 Council Strategic Plan.

These plans build on the engagement work that was undertaken as part of the City’s Official Community Plan refresh. Community members highlighted the need for the City to address traffic congestion and provide more mobility options. They also identified several barriers to active transportation and expressed a strong desire for increased walkability, accessibility, and connectivity.

The Transportation Master Plan is Langford’s first official guide for long-term planning and development of the city’s transportation network.

The *Active Transportation Plan was developed alongside the TMP and will focus on providing greater choices for walking, rolling, and cycling around the community. An ATP will help to reduce the growing pressure and congestion on the existing road network.

*Active transportation refers to any form of human-powered transportation, including walking, cycling, or rolling using a wheelchair, skateboard, in-line skates, or other wheel-based forms of human-powered transportation.

The Draft Plans will be presented to Council for adoption on July 20, 2026.
